Our primary cable is constructed to FAA AC 150/5345-7F -type B standards.
Cable construction:
Conductor: 6mm² tinned copper, 7 Strand
Voltage Rating: 5kV
Insulation: Ethylene propylene rubber (EPR)
Sheath: High density polyethylene - termite resistant
Our standard cable is EPR insulated due to its superior to water ingress. Water ingress is the biggest risk to enduring acceptable insulation resistance values in airport lighting systems.
Airport lighting primary circuits can have more than 200 plug and socket connections each being a potential point of entry for water ingress which can degrade the cable insulation. EPR is more tolerant of exposure to moisture than some other insulation types commonly used including XLPE.
Can be provided in any length from 50m up to 3000m (which is a full drum of primary cable). Discounts available for larger quantities.
